The Beast is a Time Lord

I love Disney and I love Doctor Who, so when the two things somehow meet... it makes me happy :)

Recently I discovered a collection of pictures that featured Disney princesses with the TARDIS and Doctor showing up to take them on an adventure. One that stood out to me was this one....

 

It gives me another fact to help prove that the Beast is really the Doctor and Beauty and the Beast is the story of his regeneration!

And now, if you care (or dare) to read ahead, I will state my case! :)

 

1. The Beast never seems to age.

 

"...The rose she offered was truly an enchanted rose, which would bloom until his 21st year..."

 

"Ten years we've been rusting..."

 

All the servants we're changed into household objects at the same time the Beast became... the beast. So if Lumiere says they've been rusting for ten years, and this is the year the Beast's rose dies, meaning he's turning 21, then... he was 11 when he was cursed?

 

But that doesn't make sense because...

 

 

2. There's a current portrait of the Beast in the West Wing.

 

He sure doesn't look eleven years old there too me!

 

This is easily explained however if the Beast is a Time Lord. First of all, assume that he did not look like this before he was cursed. When the lady changed him into a beast, she changed his very DNA to become the monster. She also extracted all the memories of this "Time Lordiness" and replaced it with memories of the life of a prince.

 

This is exactly what the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) did to himself once. He became totally human and put everything Time Lord about himself into a watch for safe keeping. Well, instead of a watch, the sorceress changed it up so someone had to fall in love with him. We can't follow the Doctor Who plot to closely now...

 

Wait! I hear you saying. But if he didn't look like that before the curse, then why does he have a picture?

 

Time travel.

 

No seriously! After the beast regenerated in to Prince Adam at the end of the movie, he realized that the portrait he'd been looking at the whole time was of his new face. Thus, he had to deliver the portrait to himself so he could get all mad at it and rip it to shreds. So he had someone paint his face, hopped in the TARDIS, and mailed the portrait to himself ten years ago.

 

Yeah? Ok, moving on!

 

 

3. The castle

 

Recently -- well a few weeks ago -- I helped host a movie night at my theater group where we watched Beauty and the Beast.

When Belle walked into the castle for the first time, my friend made a comment. "Why are Disney castles always bigger on the inside?"

That's completely true too... they are. And that made me think... guess what else is bigger on the inside? The TARDIS!!

Here's what happened: A while before the Doctor was cursed, he fixed the disguising thing inside the TARDIS so she would really blend in wherever they landed. So instead of a police box, the TARDIS now looks like a castle. That also explains why it totally changes looks at the end of the movie when the Beast regenerates: It's changing it' disguise to match the situation and appear normal. Beast = creepy castle. Prince = amazing castle.



4. The Beast regenerates.

Moment on the right... Broke. My. Heart.

While some people call this his transformation, it really is exactly like when the Doctor regenerates. Golden light bursts out from his hands, head, and feet and his looks change.

The Doctor only regenerates when he's hurt so bad, if he was a human, he would die. The Beast just got stabbed in the side (there was dripping blood! In a Disney movie!) so obviously he's hurting pretty bad.


 

 
5. He has strange companions

 

The Doctor has had some strange and down right crazy companions in the past....but has yet to be accompanied by dancing ale mugs and forks!

It does look like he has a fondness for dogs though:


While this isn't a definite reason the Beast is the Doctor (many Disney characters have strange friends) it still helps.




6. Belle's book is a story about a Time Lord.

Well there you have it! Six reasons the Beast is a Time Lord and Beauty and the Beast is just the story of one of his many, many adventures in all of space and time!
