So I was out having lunch with Emma and Kaitlyn today and we got to talking about our show Cinderella, as we always do. Specifically we were talking about the king and queen of the show. No particular reason... they just came up.
At some point I randomly pointed out how the Queen (played by Ruth) being the mother of Prince Andrew (played by Joel) is weird because a few shows ago Joel played Ruth's father...
That started us thinking of the actors' relationships with everyone else based on parts they've played in past shows. We managed to come up with an entire family tree for the Royal Family in Cinderella!
| The Royal Family Tree (less complicated version) |
Ok, let me explain....
In Cinderella, Ryan is the King, Ruth is the Queen, and Joel is Prince Andrew. Joel will end up marrying Lorna, aka Cinderella.
Now, in Tom Sawyer, Meagan played Mrs. Peters and Ryan played Lyle Peters, her son. Thus making Meagan the king's mother, thus making her a grandmother to Joel and "grandmother-in-law" to Lorna.
Also in Tom Sawyer, Lorna played Mrs. Rogers and Annika played Ben Rogers, her son. Thus Annika is now Cinderella and Prince Andrew's (future) daughter.
Adding Annika in the mix makes Ryan and Ruth grandparents and Meagan a great-grandmother!... with no husband...
That's the less complicated version. If you want to get really deep...
1) Meagan was Lorna's mother in Anne of Green Gables. (Mrs. Barry and Diana Barry respectively)
2) Joel has played Ruth's father twice. They were Father Frog and Young Frog in Frog and Toad, and Matthew and Anne in Anne of Green Gables.
3) Joel unofficially was Lorna's brother in Tom Sawyer during the barn dance. We called him "Crazy Uncle Rogers."
But if you considered those things, then we'd have to get into a whole bunch of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff full of paradoxes and multiple identities.
Let's keep it simple and stick with a husbandless great-grandmother, ruling grandparents, a marriage that will happen at the end of the show, and a future child.
You're welcome!
And thats only factoring those 6 people. A full family tree from all the shows would be insanely complicated.
ReplyDeleteJonathan and I made one... it was epic. :D
Deletejust read this... If you dig back to Jungle Book, you can ditch Joel as my father, and give that crazy guy Joshua the role of my father. Maybe he was once king of a far off nation, but when my mother Lizzy died, he went crazy and followed me when I became Queen, to stalk the palace life and keep goats. But we're all a little mad here...
ReplyDeleteand Matthew wasn't really Anne's father, just and adoptive father. And maybe Frog's story was made up, so that could do away with father frog...
ReplyDeletethere! My family problems are all solved. :)
